Welcome to my election website - if you are one of the 28,000 BECTU members taking part in the current ballot I hope you'll consider voting for me.
You may belong to one of the branches which nominated me to continue as president - in which case thank you for your support.
I'm hoping that many other members across the union will cast their votes for me as president, and that voters in my industrial section, the BBC, will also re-elect me to the union's National Executive Committee.
I believe that unity is essential to the union's ability to look after its members. BECTU will be stronger if we all stick together - freelancers, permanent staff, and part-timers alike.
One of my objectives is to continue improving the union's communications with members. I hope that this website demonstrates my commitment to the on-line environment as one of the communication channels that BECTU should be using.
I'm proud to be one of the lay members who keep the union's official website going - if you haven't been there before, you should find www.bectu.org.uk well worth a visit. I'm also deeply involved in the union's plan to develop the website and give BECTU's members a truly twenty-first century experience of their union on-line.
If you need to know anything about my campaign that isn't covered on the website, please mail me at faq@tonylennon.info
- feel free to post questions, and I'll answer them as quickly as possible.
Thanks again for looking in.
